Burks has written and illustrated a number of children's books, including the Bird and Squirrel graphic novel series and "Gabby and Gator," which was selected as a Read Across America title in 2012. Before beginning his career in books, he worked in the world of animationon films such as "Space Jam," "The Iron Giant," and "The Emperor's New Groove." His new book is "Pigs and a Blanket."
