Williams is Associate Professor of Religion and Director of the Ito Center at USC. He is the author of "The Other Side of Zen, Camp Dharma: Buddhism and the Japanese American Incarceration During World War II,” and editor ofseven books including “Hapa Japan” (Kaya Press), “Issei Buddhism in the Americas,” and “Buddhism and Ecology.” He is also the founder of the Hapa Japan Database Project (www.hapajapan.com).
