Dr. Astorga-Almanza is the Visual and Performing Arts Coordinator in the Lynwood Unified School District, where she strives to provide its students with equitable access to high-quality arts education. In addition, she serves on the CDE California Practitioners Advisory Group and the Create CA Leadership Council. Prior to these positions, she worked for nearly a decade as a middle school band and orchestra teacher in the Los Angeles Unified School District and earned National Board Certification in 2014. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from USC, a Master of Arts in Education from CSULA, and Doctorate in Education from UCLA’s Educational Leadership Program.
