Alex Espinoza

Espinoza was raised in Los Angeles. His books include "Still Water Saints" and "The Five Acts of Diego León" (both from Random House). He's written for the NY Times Sunday Magazine, the LA Times, NPR, and the Virginia Quarterly Review. An NEA fellow and winner of an American Book Award, he's director of the MFA Program in Creative Writing and Literary Arts at Cal State LA.

Janie Chang

Chang draws upon family legends for historical novels set in China. Janie has lived in the Philippines, Iran, Thailand, New Zealand, and now lives in Vancouver, Canada. Her first novel, "Three Souls,” was a finalist for the 2014 BC Book Prizes Fiction Prize and one of 9 Canadian books long-listed for the 2015 IMPAC Dublin Literary Award. Her second novel, "Dragon Springs Road,” was released in January 2017.
